The Brief

Formally known as the Brooklands Grange, the Jacobean Hotel is a hidden gem set back from the hustle and bustle of city life nestled in the surrounding fields.

The hotel is a privately owned hotel with individual style and charm in the Heart of England. Only 1.5 miles from Coventry and 8 miles from Birmingham.

In 2018 Luke Truslove took over a hotel on Holyhead Road, Coventry which was essentially stuck in the ’80s. Then called the Brooklands Grange, the hotel was run down and unkempt.

Given Black Ivy Design’s expertise in hotel interior design, we were was asked to design and renovate several rooms at the Jacobean Hotel.

The Challenge

Eventually, over a long period of time, work was carried out bit by bit but Truslove recognised that to get the return on his investment quicker he would have to outsource the renovation.

He saw the perfect solution in Black Ivy Design to take on the design and project management of the bedrooms. They knew the building had potential but didn’t have the time or skills to facilitate the renovation.

What won the hotel over was Black Ivy Design’s commitment and professionalism whilst offering a concept package with each room based on a different theme and narrative.

The hotel interior design presentation included everything the client needed and took on everything regarding the renovation, so the client didn’t have to worry.

The Result

The renovated rooms are unique and are the most requested rooms in the hotel. The guests love the unusual features and love how tranquil and at home they make them feel.
