Set in Kenilworth, The Almanack brings together a lively bar, relaxed dining and private hire spaces under one roof, each zoned to suit its own moment in the day.
The brief was to create a bar and restaurant that could comfortably serve several different occasions across one site: a buzzing bar for drinks and casual catch-ups, a rear dining room for relaxed meals, and a private dining space for celebrations and events.
Balancing these different moods within one building meant thinking carefully about flow and zoning. The design needed to let the bar feel energetic without that energy bleeding into the dining areas, while keeping a consistent material and lighting language throughout so the venue still reads as one cohesive space.
Black Ivy Design was brought in for our experience shaping multi-zone hospitality venues that need to work equally hard across the day and into the evening. Our focus was on giving each area — bar, rear dining and private dining — its own identity while keeping the overall experience feeling considered and connected.
The finished venue offers a distinct bar area, a more relaxed rear dining room, and a private dining space suited to private events, all tied together through consistent materials, lighting and detailing. The Almanack now works as a genuine all-day destination in Kenilworth.
